💸 OpenAI could go bankrupt
Hey fam, Shannon here back with this week’s newsletter.
We're so stoked with the response to our Creator platform announcement on Product Hunt. Volv's 'TikTok for reading' status is now cemented with a big ol' stamp of approval and a feature from the folks at Product Hunt.
Volv is part of the 'New Social' gang, and our efforts to make you go intelligently viral are getting noticed: Caroline Albro interviewed both Priyanka and me for her Substack 'Brand Baby,' and Volv was also mentioned in the 'as seen on' newsletter. Check them outtt.
Additionally, the US elections are three months away!! In lieu of our deep-dive essays, we'll be sharing a Trump v. Harris series every week comparing the two presidential candidates' stances on different policies. First up: Israel/Palestine.
And back to our regularly scheduled programming... here are the week's most interesting articles.

Trump v. Harris: Where do they stand on Gaza?
Trump's position on Israel-Palestine
I] His first term as President
His policies marked a departure from several longstanding US policies. This includes: Not considering Israeli settlements in the West Bank to be in violation of international law, recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital and shifting the US embassy there from Tel Aviv, and becoming the first country to acknowledge Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights region.
While he supported a two-state solution, the US's role as a peace broker was called into question after the US embassy was shifted.
Cut down on hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to bodies like the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA.
Mediated the signing of the Abraham Accords, marking the first time an Arab country and Israel have established diplomatic relations in over 25 years.
Introduced the Trump peace plan to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict.
II] His current position
Criticized Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu for failing to prevent the October 7 attack. Claimed there's "zero chance" October 7 would have happened had he been president.
Trump believes Israel should "get it over with… get back to peace and stop killing people." However, he adds that Israel "have to have a victory."
Claims he will ensure peace in the Middle East and around the world if he's re-elected. "We're going to save Israel," Trump said. However, he does not provide a plan for this.
Believes reaching a two-state solution will be "very, very tough" now. He said, "I'm not sure a two-state solution anymore is gonna work."
Promised to crackdown on pro-Palestine student protestors who're part of a "radical revolution" — "it has to be stopped now."
Harris's position on Israel-Palestine
I] Supports a two-state solution
Has reaffirmed the right of Israel to defend itself and denounced Hamas as a "brutal terrorist organization."
Condemned rising anti-Semitic protests and rhetoric
Sympathizes with the plight of the Palestinians, publicly stating she will "not be silent."
Called on the Israeli government to "do more to significantly increase the flow of aid."
Has called for an "immediate ceasefire" and for the war to end — in a way that "Israel is secure, all the hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can exercise their right to freedom, dignity, and self-determination."
II] How her position differ from Biden's
While she has primarily been in lockstep with Biden throughout the present conflict, Harris has often been the first senior administration to speak out on issues like civilian casualties.
Harris has been more forceful in her criticism than Biden, calling the war "a humanitarian catastrophe."
Her sharp remarks signal a shift in stance, drawing the attention of voters who do not want to vote for Trump but were wary of voting for Biden over his Israel policy.
